Soft baked dough bites filled with spiced minced meat or caramelized onions, finished with creamy Kiri cheese — perfect for prepping ahead of Ramadan and freezing.
Caramelized Onion & Kiri Cheese Filling:

Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 5 cups flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp instant yeast
- ¼ cup milk powder
- 2 cups warm liquid milk
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup vegetable
For the filling:
- Kiri Square Portions
- 2 caramelized onions (sliced)
- Cashews, to taste
- Lemon juice or zest, as desired
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Chives, to taste
Preparation:
For the Dough:
- Combine flour, sugar, yeast, milk powder, salt, milk, and oil in a large bowl. Mix and knead into a smooth dough.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
For the filling:
Simply combine caramelized onions with Kiri, cashews, lemon, salt, pepper, and chives.
Shape & Fill the Dough:
- Divide the risen dough into balls. Flatten each, then add your desired filling (minced meat or caramelized onion mixture with Kiri).
- For extra creaminess, stuff the dough edges with Kiri for a stuffed crust.
Top & Bake:
- Arrange stuffed dough balls on a baking tray. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
