This hearty Beyond Beef sauce is slow-simmered with aromatic vegetables, herbs, and a splash of red wine, then finished with fresh basil for a warm, satisfying dish, perfect for relaxed evenings or nourishing lent-friendly meals.
Ingredients:
1 pack of Beyond Beef minced meat
2 tbsp Dry Italian seasoning
1 tsp Kosher salt
1 cup Small diced yellow onion
3 tbsp Minced garlic
¼ cup Small diced celery
¼ cup Peeled diced carrots
¼ cup Tomato paste
1 Can of crushed tomatoes
2 cup Vegetable stock
1 tbsp Cornstarch
3 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
½ cup Red wine
2 Bay leaves
¼ cup + 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
¼ tsp Black pepper
1 cup Chopped fresh basil
1 pack of Linguini pasta
Instructions:
Season and brown the Beyond Beef®, then set aside. In the same pan, sauté aromatics with olive oil, add tomato paste, and deglaze with red wine, vegetable stock, balsamic, and crushed tomatoes. Simmer the sauce with the Beyond Beef® until rich and flavorful. Cook pasta separately, then finish the sauce with fresh basil, adjust seasoning, and serve.
