This limited edition bottled by 3S is a genshu, or non-reduced, version of Kumanoizumi shochu. This rice-based "Kuma shochu", a specialty of the Kumamoto region on the island of Kyushu, is made by the family-owned Nasu distillery founded in 1917.
In order to gain in roundness and complexity, this shochu has rested for 5 years in enamel vats. Bottled at 41% alc. this bottling offers extra concentration, while retaining the pure and sweet character of locally grown rice.
